Preparations for 'Evpo 2006' are in full swing, and Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) officials are busy making the Expo a grand success. An official of EPB told Business Recorder that 'Expo Secretariat' has been created, especially to prepare for the upcoming 'Expo' to be held from March 29 to April 2 this year.
The 'Expo 2006' is expected to attract nearly 1000 exhibitors from abroad, while approximately 500 stalls are to be set by Pakistani exhibitors.
EPB has not hired 'event managers' this year as it had done last year. It would outsource different companies to work on different segments of the exhibition, while overall management would be remain with EPB.
The Expo-2006 would provide an opportunity to showcase the country's quality products in an effective fashion and help boost Pakistan's exports by attracting foreign buyers.
It is hoped that importers from abroad would not only have a look at the products to be displayed in the Expo but would also witness the peaceful environment to carry out their business activities.
The Expo would also help in improving Pakistan's image as a peaceful, safe and progressive country, striving for poverty alleviation and uplift of the people.
Textile, leather goods, surgical goods, sports goods, fruits and vegetables, gemstones and marble industry would be prominent among the items to be displayed in the Exhibition.
