ISLAMABAD: United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) will launch initiative "Women in Green Industries" on Tuesday at Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Neil Buhne, UN Resident Coordinator to Pakistan, Esam Alqararah UNIDO Representative to Pakistan and colleagues from other UN agencies and Government Organizations would be a part of this initiative.
Keeping the significance and contribution of small businesses to promoting job creation and overall economic development of Pakistan, UNIDO is implementing a "Global Clean tech Innovation Programme for SMEs and Start-ups" focusing on the promotion of innovations in clean technologies, funded by the Global Environment Facility and supported by its strategic partners, Pakistan Council for Science and Technology (PCST), National Productivity Organization (NPO), Pakistan Institute of Management (PIM) and international Knowledge.
Under this umbrella UNIDO Pakistan is going to launch this campaign for Gender mainstreaming and attracting more women to be the innovators, end gender poverty through clean technologies and innovation.
