LONDON: European stock markets slid at the start of trading Thursday, mirroring falls in Asia and overnight on Wall Street caused by investor worries over a weak US economy and the eurozone debt crisis.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 index dropped 1.29 percent to 5,380.19 points, Frankfurt's DAX 30 lost 1.34 percent to 5,834.42 points and in Paris the CAC 40 retreated 1.18 percent to 3,118.07.
