Sindh Home Minister Rauf Siddiqui has said that government has taken all necessary security arrangements for holding protest processions and rallies peacefully in the province.
Talking to Aaj TV Channel in an exclusive interview here on Thursday, Rauf Siddiqui said that government is in contact with all the religious leaders to keep the protest peaceful.
While condemning the publication of cartoons in some foreign newspapers he said that every Muslim should record his protest peacefully and the lives and properties should remain safe during the protest rallies.
Regarding protest processions being held in the city he said that the organisers of the procession including Mufti Munib-ur-Rehman, Shah Turab-ul-Haq, Mufti Naeemi and others have asked the people to hold rallies in a very peaceful manners and said that Ulema would not allow anyone to hurt anyone's life or property.
He said the government believes to ensure the safety of the lives and properties of all the citizens and every possible step would be taken in this regard.
Regarding Friday's strike call he said that all the Muslim have right to protest against publishing of cartoons but they should keep in mind that any negative activity would damage the image of Muslims in the world. "Islam is the religion of peace and all the Muslims should react according to the teaching of Islam and according to the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
He said that the organisers of the protest rallies should remain in contact with the concerned government officials to ensure proper security arrangements and warned that the organisers would be responsible in case of any mishaps during the protest rallies if they will not inform the government before holding rallies. He said that government has made all necessary security arrangements to hold Pak-India cricket match peacefully to be played on February 19 in Karachi.
While condemning the terrorists attack on Chinese engineers in Balochistan Rauf Siddiqui said that China is the best friend of Pakistan and the Chinese engineers are working on many projects for the development of Pakistan. Every Pakistani condemns this terror act and believes that the enemies of the country were involved in this tragic incident.
