Pakistan People's Party Women Wing on Thursday protested against the sacrilegious caricatures published in a number of European newspapers and demanded of the government to boycott the products of the concerned countries.
A score of PPP's women activists gathered at Aabpara Chowk, holding banners and placards inscribed with slogans against Denmark and other European countries that are responsible for publishing blasphemous cartoons of the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him).
They chanted slogans of "Death to Denmark" and "Death to Europe" and also criticised the foreign policy of present government terming it weak and docile.
Addressing the rally, PPP activist Nargis Faiz Malik appealed the Muslims to boycott the European products in protest against their pre-planned blasphemous act.
She said the Muslims would not forgive elements involved in publishing the sacrilegious cartoons.
Referring to the present turmoil in different parts of the country, she said due to the absence of real democracy, the government badly failed to handle the situation as of public and private properties worth billions of rupees were damaged.
She said the mainstream political leaders were out of the country, that's why masses under the control of present rulers. She demanded of the government to allow two former prime ministers Nawaz Sharif and Benazir Bhutto back home for leading the nation.
