On pointation by a member of KCCI, the Swiss Envoy agreed that more initiatives were required at the government and private sector levels from both sides to tap the existing potential of trade and investment in Pakistan and Switzerland. "Yes, we should enter more joint ventures in diverse fields for this purpose," he said.
KCCI's Diplomatic Affairs Sub-Committee Chairman Mian Abrar Ahmad said the trade between the two countries was very nominal at dollars 63 million in 2004-05 whereas Pakistan had dollars 230 million with small country of Bangladesh over the same period.
Mian Abrar said it was a good omen that the economic ties between the two countries had flourished. Today, prominent Swiss firms' products had found room at almost every household of Pakistan.
