Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Amanullah Khan Jadoon on Wednesday said there existed a lot of potential and opportunities for the Canadian investment in Pakistan's oil, gas and mineral sector.
Pakistan can also benefit from the Canadian expertise for promoting its hydrocarbon exploration activities. He made these remarks while talking to Canadian High Commissioner, David B. Collins who called on him here and discussed matters of mutual interest and bilateral co-operation.
The minister said the government was encouraging and facilitating foreign investors and offering them attractive incentives in the oil, gas and mineral exploration activities.
The Canadian companies could also avail these opportunities for mutual advantages, he added. He lauded the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) for providing assistance to Pakistan for promoting the oil and gas sector since last decade.
The minister explained salient feature of the development activities in the oil, gas and mineral sector including cross border pipelines and LNG projects.
