Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Ltd (SNGPL) has declared a historic after tax profit of Rs 2,099 million and earning per share (EPS) of Rs 4.21 for the half year ended December 31, 2005.
According to a press release, SNGPL's board of directors met in Lahore, under the chairmanship of Altaf M Saleem to approve the reviewed financial accounts of the company for the half year ended December 31, 2005.
The second financial quarter of the company was prosperous in all aspects as compared to the corresponding last year. The sales value increased by 23.72 percent while the profit swelled significantly by 78 percent. The EPS of Rs 4.21 showed a remarkable increase of 78.30 percent. The operational/financial highlights of the company for this period show very impressive results in all aspects.
The "other operating income" increased considerably due to exceptional items relating to compensation and tax refunds of Rs 367.781 million. The company has excellent future prospects and is moving in the right direction.
It focused on expansion of supply of gas network to Northern Areas. It has initiated various development projects, which will increase returns for the shareholders.-PR
