Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain on Thursday strongly condemned bomb blast and urged the government to arrest the culprits. In a statement, he said that these elements are open enemies of Pakistan and its people. They cannot be called Muslims, he added.
The MQM chief said that there was no room for terrorism, fanaticism and religious extremism in Islam as it teaches us tolerance.
Calling it an organised conspiracy against the country, he said that the purpose of perpetrators was to harm the image of Sindh, especially Karachi, in the world. He said that the people of Sindh have time and again demonstrated that they hate terrorism and love peace and tolerance.
Altaf expressed profound grief over the loss of innocent lives and prayed for rest of the departed souls in eternal peace and give fortitude to the bereaved families to bear this irreparable loss. He also prayed for the early recovery of injured people.
Sindh Planning and Development Minister Shoaib Bukhari has also condemned the bomb blasts near the US Consulate and said that this terrorist act was a part of conspiracy to harm the image of Karachi. The minister who also visited the site of the incident vowed that the culprits would not be spared and the government would arrest them at any cost.
He also expressed sympathies with the deceased and injured. He also visited Jinnah Hospital and inquired after the welfare of the injured. Karachi Naib Nazim Begum Nasreen Jalil, while strongly condemning the blast said that those who were committing terrorist acts against the people were the enemies of the city and the country.
She alleged that these elements were playing with the lives and property of innocent people for their ulterior motives.
Pakistan Chemists and Druggists Association Chairman Haji Hanif Blue in his statement condemned the blast and termed the culprits anti-Pakistan.
He also urged the government to bear all expenses for treatment of the injured. Pasban President Shafiqullah Ismail has denounced the bomb blasts and urged the government to arrest the culprits. He said that it was the conspiracy to weaken the unity of Muslims.
