Sindh Assembly members of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) in their joint statement here on Friday said that the so-called political and religious parties were trying to get their political motives in the name of protests against blasphemy.
"Using of blasphemous act of the European press to their political advantage qualifies for blasphemy in itself," they said.
Referring to the statements of Jamaat-i-Islami Chief Qazi Hussain Ahmed and other leaders that the protests would continue despite the apology by the Denmark's newspaper, they said their protest was actually against the present government.
They said if Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) really wanted to register its protest in strongest way then instead of taking people onto the streets it should relinquish its governments in NWFP and Balochistan.
Their real motives have once again come clear before the people with their acts, the MPAs said.
