US benchmark coffee futures settled at a 3-week peak on Friday, fuelled by speculative buying and switch trading in an otherwise subdued session, market sources said.
The New York Board of Trade's active arabica contract for May delivery rose 2.0 cents, or 1.8 percent, to end at $1.14 per lb, the loftiest settlement since February 10. July gained 2.10 cents to end at $1.1665 a lb, while back months climbed 2.25 to 3.50 cents.
