President George W Bush in an interaction with the representatives of Pakistani civil society on Saturday said the sharing of thoughts would help bring the two countries further closer.
Talking to a select group of 10 Pakistanis here at the US Embassy, President Bush said, "We can share our thoughts and common values for greater interaction between the two peoples."
President Bush noting the empowerment of women in Pakistan, said those were signs of modern society.
The participants included the Parliamentarians Commission for Human Rights (PCHR) - an inter-party caucus of parliamentarians legislating on human rights issues - Chairman and MNA Riaz Fatyana, City Group Country Manager Zubyr Soomro, PCHR Executive Secretary and MNA Kashmala Tariq, Pepsi Cola Country Manager Faisal Farid, Pakistan Center for Philanthropy Head Shehnaz Wazir Ali, Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund Head Hussain Dawood, Christian Study Center Director Mehboob Sada, Children's Resource International Country Director Mehnaz Akbar Aziz, Center for Civic Education Director Zafarullah Khan and First Women Bank CEO Zarine Aziz.
The US President was accompanied by US Ambassador to Pakistan Ryan C Crocker and Secretary of State Condolezza Rice.
