Senate Standing Committee on Defence and Defence Production Chairman Senator Nisar Ahmed Memon has reassured the foreigners living in Pakistan, especially diplomats, that government is taking all necessary measures to ensure their safety.
He said this while condemning the suicide bomb attack in Karachi on Thursday in which an American diplomat and three Pakistanis were killed.
The Senator offered condolences to the bereaved families and said the culprits would be brought before justice. He said it was too early to say anything about the elements involved.
He was of the view that enemies of Pakistan were out to cause harm in any way and stop foreign investment inflow. Nisar Memon said it was imperative for all democracy loving forces to join hands to defeat the designs of terrorists. He reiterated assurance to all foreigners that Pakistan was one of the safest countries in the world and President Pervez Musharraf was personally committed to ensure that terrorism was rooted out in all effectiveness.
The Senator welcomed the visit of US President Bush and his determination to continue fight against terrorism.
