The so-called war on terror might extend any time to Iran, from Balochistan, at the behest of the United States, said the leader of opposition in National Assembly, Fazlur Rehman, here on Saturday.
Talking to newsmen at Multan Press Club programme 'Guftugu', he said: "The United States is dreaming of becoming master of South Asia and to divide Pakistan and Afghanistan into smaller states."
He said the recent tour of Bush could prove dangerous for South Asia peace, especially when he has signed a nuclear deal with India to provide modern nuclear technology, which would be specifically used against Pakistan.
He alleged that there was a wide gap between US President's statements and actions. "He is favouring the dictatorial rule of General Pervez Musharraf and at the same time claiming himself as champion of democracy," he added.
The MMA leader said that the United States wanted to occupy the trade of Asia and would not like to annoy India, which is the biggest market for the US products and arms. He said that USA wanted to occupy the oil of Iraq and mineral wealth of Afghanistan.
"Its next targets are Iran and Pakistan," he charged.
Fazl said: "Our struggle should not be limited to the removal of General Pervez Musharraf, because another Pervez Musharraf can come into power. We should pave the way for a strong democracy."
He said: "We are not reluctant to resign from the assemblies but we want that the existing assemblies should complete their term, to check the way of any adventurist and also to strengthen democracy."
He said that Bush had announced a grant of $565 million for India but he did not announce any grant for Pakistan, although Pakistan had suffered huge losses by joining hands with the United States regarding war on terrorism.
