Four candidates from Pakistan have been elected to the Asia Pacific Dental Federation (APDF). The elections were held after the recently concluded 28th Asia Pacific Dental Congress (APDC) in Karachi.
According to details, APDC Chairman Dr Arif Alvi has been elected as the new APDF President following the resignation of compatriot Dr Mervyn Hosein, who himself was recently elected as APDF President and was handed over the presidency during the event.
APDF Pakistan here on Saturday said PDA President Dr Waheed-u1-Hameed elected Chairman of the newly established Commission for General Dental Practice and Dr Naveed Rasheed, the Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the recently concluded APDC elected as Chairman of Commission for Oral Diseases.
Pakistan thus has its representation at four key positions out of the total 14 in the APDF council, thus giving the country high hopes with regards to major developments that are needed in the dental health care sector in Pakistan.
