At least nine people were killed and others remained trapped after a two-storey building in the southern Indian town of Rajampet collapsed, police said on Sunday.
"Three of the dead were kids below the age of 15," a police spokesman from Kadapa district, Andhra Pradesh state said.
"We are still taking out the remaining bodies, the rescue operation is ongoing," he said, estimating the number of people still to be found at "not more than 15".
The building's residents were mostly poor labourers, the police said.
