Dacoits looted Rs 1 million at gun-point in the broad daylight from Rawal Chowk in the jurisdiction of Waris Khan Police Station, and made good their escape.
Three persons namely Naveed, Javed and Abdul Hameed withdrew Rs 1.7 million from the Bank Alfalah, Murree Road branch, to pay to a dealer Ghulam Rasool, who told them to deposit Rs 1 million in his account after receiving Rs 0.7 million.
When the three persons reached Rawal Chowk, four armed persons stopped their vehicle and dragged them out of the vehicle. On their resistance, the armed dacoits beat the three mercilessly and snatched from them Rs 1 million. The dacoits escaped from the scene in Car No RLA 8510.
On hearing of the incident high police officials, including DPO Saud Aziz and others reached the site. A case was filed against the unknown dacoits and police started investigation.
