The Karachi Port handled 140,649 tonnes of cargo including 105,245 tonnes import and 35,404 tonnes export cargo including 1,238 containers during last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday.
The cargo comprised of 79,376 tonnes dry cargo including 68,983 tonnes general cargo; 4,885 tonnes sugar; 4,894 tonnes rice; 614 tonnes cement and 61,273 tonnes oil/liquid cargo.
Fifteen ships namely Bum Chin, Iran Shahryar, African Python, Fu Yu Shan, MT Lalazar, Explorer-1, Diamond Park, Long An, Sinar Bontang, Maersk Alabama, Asphalt Merchant, Rickmers Mumbai, Thor Nautilus, Eber and Roseanne sailed out to sea during the report period.
Eleven vessels viz Bunga Delima, Banglar Mamata, Mercs Ruhunu, Sagamore, Roseanne, Altius, Phuong Dong-3, Bum Chin, Iran Shahryar, Kota Merdesa and Nicolas S are currently at the berths.
One vessel viz Bunga Delima expected to sail on Monday, while another ship Kota Merdesa is expected to sail on Tuesday.
Five ships namely Lady Jasmine, MT Johar, MT Swat, Orient Independence and Hanjin Busan due to arrive on Monday, while six vessels viz San Cairo, Bunga Melati Satu, Apl Pusan, Corinthiakos, Mol Silverfern and Legend Phonix are due to arrive on Tuesday.
The cargo comprised of 36,483 tonnes diesel oil; 4,194 tonnes seeds; 4,947 tonnes wheat; 10,486 tonnes chemicals and 20,689 tonnes containerised cargo.
Two ships namely CV Denderah Rickmers and MV Shekou Sea sailed out to sea during the report period, while three more vessels viz CV Msc Nuria, Lady Jasmine and Difko Susanne are expected to sail on Monday afternoon.
A total of five vessels viz Mar Reina, Tai King, Multan, Banglar Mookh and Giovanni Dellia are currently at the outer anchorage. Four ships namely CV Sealand Independence, Mar Reina, Tai King and MT Multan due to take berths on Monday.
Two ships namely MV Silver One and MT Warbah with coke and diesel oil due to arrive on Tuesday, while another bulk cargo carrier MV Minght Michlaes is due to arrive on Wednesday.
