Members of Jaranwala Bar Association boycotted the courts' proceedings on Tuesday in protest to condemn the murder of two prisoners in the premises of Session Courts in Jaranwala.
Addressing protest meeting, the lawyers condemned the increasing lawlessness and inefficiency of the police and said when the culprits started firing, police personnel, who were present in the court premises ran for their own safety.
Ebad Ali, Shahbaz and Muhammad Hussain Dogar were in the judicial custody in a murder case. They were brought for hearing in the court of Additional Sessions Judge Jaffar Hussain when a rival group opened fire at them, in which Mahmoodul Hassan and his brother Ebad Ali were killed and four others injured on Monday.
Those injured include constable Muhammad Shafiq, Abdul Ghaffar, Shahid, Muhammad Afzal and Sanaullah. They were shifted to Allied Hospital Faisalabad.
Attackers escaped in a car after aerial firing. Jaranwala police have registered a case and arrested two persons.
