The Meezan Bank is proudly providing its experience and expertise at the first Shariah Finance Training Program in United Kingdom. This initiative has been organised by the First Ethical Charitable Trust in association with the Centre for Islamic Economics and the Meezan Bank.
As the pioneer Islamic commercial bank in Pakistan, the Meezan Bank has always been at the forefront of providing support for promoting Riba-Free banking awareness.
This course is to be held in UK during the first two weeks of March 2006 at the Islamic Foundation Conference Centre in Markfield, Leicester.
The primary objective of this program is to promote Islamic financial solutions through the training of UK-based scholars in Islamic finance. This involves applying traditional Fiqh principles to contemporary financial and legal concerns.
Whilst this program is mainly intended for scholars it also represents a unique and valuable opportunity for legal and finance professionals to better understand the Fiqh principles underlying Shariah compliant financial products and services. There will, therefore, be a parallel course over this period running for four days catering for finance professionals.
Lectures will be delivered by eminent scholars, including the chairman of Meezan Bank's Shariah Supervisory Board, Justice Mufti Taqi Usmani (Retd), and leading finance as well as legal professionals.
The Meezan Bank is the largest dedicated Islamic bank in Pakistan with 29 real time online branches in all major cities of the country, and has also recently won the award of "Best Provider of Islamic Financial Services" for Pakistan.-PR
