The Lahore High Court (LHC) has directed former president Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) Ahmed Javed Jillani to visit the cattle market in Sabzazar Scheme Lahore and submit his report before the court on Thursday (March 9).
The court passed these orders in a contempt petition filed by president Sabzazar Welfare Society Saeed Aasi challenging the existence of the cattle market in the scheme. The court has taken serious notice of the attitude of the administration of Allama Iqbal Town, ignoring the court orders time and again.
The court directed the Town Municipal Administrator (TMA) Allama Iqbal Town to stop the holding of market in the scheme and observed that if he could not get implemented the court orders, he should not remain in his office.
The petitioner contended that the market is being held in the scheme despite orders of the court.
The court, after hearing the petitioner's counsel at length, called for a report and directed the TMA to restrain the administration from holding market in future.
