US coffee futures closed firmer on Thursday, supported by floor brokers and speculative traders, although the market still was viewed as consolidating near where prices started the year, dealers said.
The New York Board of Trade's active arabica contract for May delivery settled up 0.10 cent at $1.0875 per lb, after trading from $1.0750 to $1.1025. July gained 0.20 cent to finish at $1.1135 a lb and back months were down 0.05 cent to up 0.20 cent.
