Criticising the 'faulty policies' of President Pervez Musharraf, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz said on Friday the United States had left Pakistan in a lurch by supporting Afghan and Indian stance on terrorism and other regional issues.
Speaking at a news conference here, the leaders of former premier Nawaz Sharif's league observed the victimisation of political foes the present government resorted to was no service to democracy.
MNAs Saad Rafiq, Tehmina Dolatana, Nadir Pervaiz and Mamoona Hashmi were those who interacted with the media.
They said Musharraf shed blood of hundreds of troops and citizens for the sake of US but Washington in return 'insulted him' by preferring India and Afghanistan to Pakistan.
The PML-N leaders were talking in the context of US President George W Bush recent visit to the South Asia and the deal he signed with India to help New Delhi develop civilian nuclear technology.
They said the military dictator had put the solidarity of the country at stake for vested interest and Pakistan had become alone in the community of nations due to Musharraf.
Khawaja Saad Rafiq said PML-N under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif would continue its struggle for the restoration of constitution and the democracy.
"The restlessness and lawlessness in the tribal areas is extending to the remaining parts of the country and the government has badly failed on all fronts," Saad added.
Khawaja came down harsh upon the government for not allowing detained PML-N Acting President Javed Hashmi to vote for the election of Senate members held earlier in the day.
