Pakistan and China have agreed to adopt a seven-point action plan to establish mutually beneficial co-operative partnership in the field of vocational training.
The two sides also decided necessary modalities to implement the plan within next three years. A joint working group will be set up to ensure proper implementation of the agreement that was signed during the recent visit to China by President Pervez Musharraf. Official sources told APP here on Saturday that the vocational training centers in joint ventures will help to develop skilled manpower in line with the standards of the International Labour Organisation (ILO).
The proposed action plan includes, design and implementation of national policy and plan on vocational training and promoting effectiveness of vocational training in accordance with the demand of labour market, with a special attention to applied techniques and skills in industry and agriculture.
The two sides will also cooperate in improving vocational training by means of advanced techniques including long-distance training delivered by the use of internet and satellite.
They will lay special focus on the effective implementation of re-employment training, pre-job training and entrepreneurship training.
The relevant departments of the two countries will also introduce and exchange related teaching material. They will also co-ordinate arranging study tour and exchange of visits by senior officials and experts and joint research and organisation of seminars and workshops. The agreement to this effect is a part of the ongoing efforts to develop comprehensive partnership between the two countries, the sources added.
