'Sau Din Sunar Ke, Eik Din Lohar Ka' was proved true when a fruit seller lady was made chief guest at Safari Park here on Saturday to observe International Women Day.
The programme was arranged by the Association of Business, Professional and Agricultural Women (ABP&AW) in collaboration with the City District Government of Karachi (CDGK).
The main objective of holding this function was to provide maximum entertainment and enjoyment in a healthier way to the children and women who are fed up with life routine. The lady who was the chief guest expressed happiness and said that "we must improve our education and due to that we will be able to get better job".
All participants demanded provision of basic facilities especially at the bed sheets, cotton suits or food items for the economic empowerment of women. Most of the professional ladies were of the view that without education women can't get their purpose. If women have chance to improve their academic capabilities, they must achieve and apply them in their practical lives, because it will improve their living standard and it would also change the patterns of mindset.
Leading women entrepreneur were present at the occasion and explained to the housewives how they can make their time useful and can do business at home level. They also said how these occasions would help them in self-judgement of their products, quality and price in a competitive environment. All participants took interest in purchasing garments and other products at the mela and asked questions to get and improve information about the field.
The National President of ABP&AW, Shameim Kazmi, Senior Vice President Qaiser Rehman, Vice president Shaheen Afroz, General Secretary Fouzia Azhar, joint secretary Mahjabeen Zuberi and members of the Association urged the women to come forward with boldness. They said that women were working hard to get rid of their stigma that they are less competent as compared to the men.
