Children Health and Education Foundation (CHAEF) has treated 82,000 poor and needy patients free of charges by February.
According to a press release issued here on Saturday, the CHAEF - a non-profit organisation - is providing primary healthcare and educational facilities to the poor and needy living in its 10 primary healthcare centres in slums and poor residential areas of Karachi.
In the event of diagnoses of symptoms of deadly disease relating to heart, kidney, hepatitis A, B or C etc, the patient is referred to the concerned hospital, established by the non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to treat the particular disease through Zakat Fund.
The CHAEF has also established a primary school at Chishti Nagar, Gulistan-I-Johar where 170 poor and needy students are being imparted modern education for almost free (whoever affords to pay Rs 110/- per month).
The CHAEF vocational training centre for girls at Sultanabad, M.T. Khan Road, is imparting vocational training (sewing, cutting, embroidery etc) to 60 poor girls at their doorsteps.-PR
