Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has said that publication of blasphemous caricatures by some European newspapers has hurt the feelings of Muslims all over the world and Pakistan has raised this issue at various international fora to ensure that such incidents are not repeated in future.
Talking to a delegation of MMA led by Maulana Sami-ul-Haq, the Prime Minister said he raised the issue during the recent foreign visits to sensitise west about the sentiments of Muslims.
About tribal areas, Prime Minister said the government is working for the development of tribal areas and substantial funds have been allocated to improve the facilities of health and education as well as to generate economic activities there and enhance the standard of living of the people of FATA.
He said that some external forces are trying to disrupt the peace process in tribal areas but government will ensure that such elements do not succeed in their designs and peace is restored in the areas.
Maulana Sami-ul-Haq emphasised the need to solve the issues through a dialogue process.
The delegation members included Ikramullah Shahid, Deputy Speaker, NWFP Maulana Hamid-ul-Haqani MNA and Maulana Syed Yousaf Shah, Secretary, Jamiat-ul-Ulema-e-Islam, NWFP.
