Gains and losses matched on the commodity wholesale markets during the week ended on March 11, 2006, where changes were seen in Irri rice, cotton cakes, wheat, dyes, masoor Australia, guwar, jute etc.
The opening day saw a couple of changes on the grain market where Irri white inferior type shed Rs 20 to Rs 870 and better type managed to limit losses and shed Rs 10 to Rs 900, cotton cakes with bag was gainer by Rs 5 to Rs 525-535.
The following day wheat Mexipak old was lower by Rs 5 to Rs 2210 the new type had old was lower by Rs 5 to Rs 1120 the new type had a sharp fall of Rs 65 to Rs 1075.
On the dyes side Tenjin China sky blue 5B down Rs 2 to Rs 90, Pakistan dyes black EX up Rs 5 to Rs 120, Chrasamine G up Rs 2 to Rs 118, acid dyes India blue V up Rs 10 to Rs 360, sulphur dyes China brown GDR up Rs 2 to Rs 54, cotton cakes with bag gained Rs 5 to Rs 540 while the low type stayed put.
On Wednesday Masoor Australia was higher by Rs 100 to Rs 2450, wheat Mexipak oil was higher by Rs 100 to Rs 1125 and new type lost Rs 15, guwar lower type turned higher by Rs 100 to Rs 1850 and better type jumped by Rs 50 to Rs 2050. Jute goods went down by and large such as 20x3 brown down 50 paisa to Rs 38.50, 16x3 CRT/Indus down 50 paisa to Rs 38.50, 8x3 down Rs 1.50 to Rs 61 and Hessian cloth 50x9 Thul down Rs 50 to Rs 1,750.
On Thursday masoor Australia had conceded earlier but gained Rs 100 to Rs 2450, guwar followed suit and was u1p by equal amount to Rs 1850, while better type rose by Rs 50 to Rs 2050, gram garda was higher by Rs 25 to Rs 2525/2575, bajra was mixed as low type shed Rs 35 to Rs 1250, and better type was up sharply by Rs 75 to Rs 1500, and cotton cakes was sharply lower by Rs 15 to Rs 218/525.
On Friday grain market was noted rising due mainly to tight supply position, traders said.
They said masoor Australia and masoor from Canada was seen rising by Rs 50 to Rs 2500 while they said masoor dal picked up same amount to Rs 2900. Wheat Mexipak old rose by Rs 5 to Rs 1125 and new type was quoted at Rs 1060/1070. On the rice sector Sela Karnal low type gained Rs 50 to Rs 3000 while better type gained Rs 100 to Rs 3,400.
On Friday plastic moulding closed mostly down: HDPE film Saudia 952 down 5 paisa to Rs 36.95, Mobil down 10 paisa to Rs 36.90, TR144 down 25 paisa to Rs 36.50, HDPE injection Sabic 200056 up 25 paisa to Rs 37.25, Lucky down 25 paisa to Rs 36.25, HDPE blow Kuwait down 25 paisa to Rs 37, polypropylene tape grade India down Re 1 to Rs 38.75, Kuwait down Re 1 to Rs 38.37, Saudia down Re 1 to Rs 38.75, polypropylene injection grade Saudia down 50 paisa to Rs 39.25, India down 50 paisa to Rs 39.25, Kuwait down 50 paisa to Rs 39.25, polystyrene Pak quoted at Rs 2444, Copoly bloc down 25 paisa to Rs 40.75 High Impact Pak quoted at Rs 2588 and ABS Khumo down Rs 20 to Rs 2800.
