The Speaker National Assembly Chaudary Amir Hussain has said that government has mobilised its huge resources on priority basis to improve living conditions of the backward areas of the country.
After inaugurating the water supply scheme here on Sunday night, the Speaker, elaborating the government efforts, said that the huge funds had been earmarked for the provision of basic facilities like electricity, gas, telecommunication, education, health and means of communication for these neglected areas.
The government had evolved a strategy for village electrification under which every village would be electrified, he said, adding water filtration plants would also be installed at union council level aimed at providing clean drinking water to the rural population.
The National Assembly Speaker said that special vocational training institutions would be established at tehsil and district level for producing skilled workforce.
Chaudary Amir Hussain said the government had introduced a liberal and business-friendly polices as a result of which large number of overseas Pakistanis and foreign investors were taking keen interest in investing in different trades of Pakistan.
Chaudary Amir Hussain also expressed his deep sorrow and grief over the death of mother of Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi.
He prayed to Almighty Allah to give forbearance to the members of the family to bear the loss with fortitude and rest the departed soul in peace.
A large number of people, including President of Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) Dr Nouman Idris Butt, Senior Vice-President of SCCI Faisal Mehmood Khan and Chairman of Pakistan Gloves Manufacturers and Exporters Association Dr Shumail Saeed Barlas have also condoled the death.
