Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain has said that poor and middle classes from the Punjab will have to come forward to help banish feudalism from the country. He was addressing a largely attended party meeting at Gujranwala on Monday.
Altaf told the audience how he and his colleagues were humiliated, insulted, abused and subjected to repression over the years. His party suffered military operations for five long years and yet it was able not only to survive, but forge ahead in its quest for a better future for the oppressed and suppressed people of the country, he said.
The MQM chief made it clear that feudalism and Pakistan cannot co-exist and the former should have to be banished if the country wants to survive and progress.
Landlords, he said, had not only remained powerful but actually indulged in loot and plunder, adding only those people can help solve the problems of the poor who themselves have faced these problems.
