National Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Amir Hussain and Deputy Speaker Sardar Muhammad Yagoob have extended congratulations to Muhammadmian Soomro and Jan Muhammad Jamali on their election as Chairman and Deputy Chairman of Senate.
In their separate messages to Senate Chairman Muhammadmian Soomro and newly elected Deputy Chairman, Jan Muhammad Jamali, they said the election to the custodian of upper house was an evidence of trust and confidence of the Senators and the people.
"Their election was also a proof of the peoples trust in the policies of the government," the message added.
They expressed hope that the Chairman and Deputy Chairman would prove precious asset for the Senate and would play pragmatic and active role in strengthening democratic norms and institutions in the country.
