By toeing the US agenda, Pakistan has lost its good relations with its neighbouring countries, including China, which is a complete failure of foreign policy of the present government.
This was stated by Sardar Assef Ahmed Ali, Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) former presidents Ahmed Awais, Fakharunnisa Khokhar and LHCBA Finance Secretary Rabiya Bajwa in a seminar arranged by the People Lawyers Forum (PLF) here on Tuesday.
The speakers said while implementing the American agenda, President Musharraf killed innocent citizen of Pakistan and other Muslims in Quetta and Waziristan, but that did not satisfy the Americans.
They were of the view that some political forces, including MMA, were responsible for the present situation in the country, as they had validated General Musharraf as President of Pakistan.
"These political forces are still in gloves with General Musharraf and would not cooperate with the real political forces in Pakistan. The General is playing havoc with the country and creating situations that could not be handled in future," they added.
According to them, General Musharraf should allow the people to run their affairs, thus he should announce new, free and fair elections in the country, and all the political forces and the leaders should be permitted to participate in it. Pakistan could sustain only by allowing all the political parties to participate in the elections.
The speakers averred the government should understand the critical situation of the country and allow all the political leadership to come to Pakistan and participate in the future general elections. They demanded appointment of independent election commissioner for fair and impartial elections in future.
