Three dacoits were killed in an encounter with police in Boat Basin Clifton here on Tuesday. According to a police spokesman, two persons Saleem and Izharuddin drew Rs 250,000 from the Bank Al-Falah in Boat Basin area.
As they left the bank on a motorcycle, the dacoits riding on two motorcycles intercepted them and tried to snatch the money from them and on resistance opened fire injuring the two, Izhar being seriously.
Meanwhile, a police mobile also reached at the spot and an encounter took place in which three dacoits were killed. Police said two identity cards were recovered from each of two dacoits and efforts were being made for ascertaining their actual identity.
