US benchmark cocoa futures dipped 0.3 percent to a 1-1/2-week low on Tuesday, pressured by light speculative selling for the fourth consecutive session amid lingering expectations of ample supply, traders said.
The New York Board of Trade's active cocoa contract for May delivery eased $4 to settle at $1,444 a tonne, near the floor of a trading range from $1,442 to $1,458.
It was the weakest close for the contract since March 2. July cocoa lost $4 to end at $1,467 a tonne, while longer-dated positions finished down $2 to $8.
