Deputy Inspector General Police Gujranwala Range Zafar Abbas Luk has said the strategy was being evolved for taking action against Qabza group and land-grabbers in Gujranwala range.
Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday afternoon in Sialkot Police line, he added the Police would play its pivotal role in eliminating the land and property grabbers in all districts of the range.
The DIG Police further said that appropriate measures were being taken for launching drive against the land and property grabbers adding that all police officers had been directed to keep vigilant eye on the activities of the land mafia and their allies.
Besides, effective steps have been taken for protecting the life and property of the people and no slackness in that regard would be tolerated and police should help the victims of the grabbers.
The tendency of grabbing property had sharply increased as a result of which people were suffering but the police would adopt all possible measures for defusing this tendency, Zafar Luk observed.
The DIG Police further said besides that all means and modes were being mobilised for further improving law and order aimed at bringing down the crime graph as well as apprehending the anti-social elements and criminals in all districts of the region. However, the DIG Police Gujranwala Range observed the ratio of crime had considerably decreased in the range.
Addressing the press conference, District Police Officer (DPO) Tariq Khokhar revealed that Sialkot police had arrested 116 criminals (A category) involved in murder and dacoities, 223 absconders (B category) in the district. Besides, 2.287-kg heroine, 38.547 kg chars 529 bottles of wine recovered; and 27 working distilleries were unearthed in various parts of Sialkot district, he revealed. District Nazim Sialkot Muhammad Akmal Cheema while addressing the press conference urged upon the police to fulfil its responsibilities with missionary zeal and protect the life and property of the citizens.
Later, the DIG Police Gujranwala range and Sialkot district Nazim distributed certificates and cash-awards among the SHOs on their outstanding performance.
