The old account numbers of Habib Bank Limited (HBL) have been changed with new 14 digits under a new "MISYS" banking software. Mrs Zahida Butt, assistant vice-president and chief manager, HBL, Muslim Town, highlighting the distinctive features of new accounts told APP here on Saturday.
First four-digit will relate to branch code while next six-digit will incorporate existing number and last will represent type of code.
She said the bank has made special arrangements for old account numbers to co-exist with new account numbers ensuring smooth and seamless transition. She said account holders will continue to use their existing cheques books/ATM cards and standing instructions, if any, will remain unchanged.
Mrs Zahida Butt said that the new "MISYS" software will bring benefits like increased automation and reduction in manual intervention will ensure better customer service. Loan instalments will be recovered through auto debit facility. Direct debit facility for payment of utility bills, credit cards, etc will be now available.
She said that all accounts maintained by a customer in a branch will be linked and this facility in due course will be extended to link accounts at other HBL branches. She said sweep facility will now be available for transfer account balance overnight across HBL branches. She said transaction advice will now be available for all debit and credit transactions except for cheques.
The HBL official said that customers can have direct access to their account details (balance and transactions) at any time through Internet. She said all account holders have been informed through a letter containing all information circulated by Jamil Ahmad Khan, SEVP/Group Executive, Retailing Banking Group and Sima Kamil, SEVP, Group Executive, Corporate Banking Group.
