Major General Tang Wannian, Commandant, University of Science and Technology People's Liberation Army China heading a six-member delegation visited the Corps Headquarters and called on Corps Commander Lieutenant General Shafaat Ullah Shah in his office here on Saturday.
The dignitary remained with him for sometime and exchanged views on matters of professional interest. General Shafaat Ullah Shah presented the formation crest to the Chinese General as a memento of his visit to the Corps Headquarters, according to an ISPR press release. Thereafter the dignitary from the friendly country visited the Mazar of Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal and laid floral wreath to pay homage to the great poet and philosopher of the East.
At the Lahore Fort the delegation was apprised about the historical background of the grand Fort and taken around Diwan-e-Aam, Diwan-e-Khas and Sheesh Mahal. They evinced keen interest and praised the architectural marvel of moghal era.
In the evenings the members of the delegation visited Pakistan-India border at Wagah and witnessed the flag-lowering ceremony.
