The department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering of Mehran University of Engineering & Technology (MUET) facilitated Warid Telecom by conducting recruitment test for fresh graduates.
On this occasion, engineers from Warid Telecom appreciated the efforts of MUET for providing the platform which would play a major role in enhancing the University-Industry interaction.
The MUET Vice-Chancellor, Dr A Q K Rajput, praised the efforts of BSS RF Design Group of Warid Telecom for hunting talent in fresh gradates. He said that Telecom Laboratories of the University are recognised at world level, "and we are putting every effort in imparting quality education in this fast growing field of telecommunication."
Professor Dr B S Chowdhry, Chairman, Department of Electronics, Telecommunication Engineering, said that as far as the government's telecom policy was concerned, it was very clear and based on deregulation, liberalisation and privatisation along with consistency, continuity and transparency. This has helped in a long way in achieving objectives in terms of infrastructure development, increase in investment and range of quality and choice of telecom services to remote areas and encouragement of fair competition among telecom operator companies.
He said that the only impediment to the growth in the telecom sector appeared to be the shortage of skilled manpower capable of meeting the market demand. He added that MUET had been declared hub in telecommunication technologies.
