An eight-year-old boy was electrocuted here on Sunday while trying to catch a kite. According to details, class-two student Naseer Ahmed son of Shabbir Ahmed Mallah was trying to catch an stray kite over the roof of his house, when he got entangled into electricity wires and died on the spot.
The death of the boy sent a wave of sadness in whole area. The mother of the deceased was having fits of unconsciousness. Later, the body was buried at local graveyard.
Citizens said that despite the ban of kite flying, the sale of kites was on continuos rise, as the police and administration had failed to implement the ban.
