Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Sunday said government was taking steps to transform the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah for making the country a prosperous and welfare state.
The Prime Minister was talking to President Nazria-e-Pakistan Council and Editor of the daily Pakistan Observer, Zahid Malik here at the Prime Minister House.
Shaukat Aziz said Pakistan Muslim League being the founder party of Pakistan along with its allied parties was making sincere efforts for the welfare of the people and to make the country strong and stable.
He said millions of Muslims rendered sacrifices for this separate homeland in the sub-continent and launched a successful struggle under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah from the platform of PML.
Shaukat Aziz said the PML government was committed to ensure the provision of all basic needs of life to the people at their doorsteps. He said a number of development projects initiated by the government would ensure improvement in the life of the people throughout the country.
He said PML has arranged a party convention in Lahore on March 23, to revive the spirit, devotion and enthusiasm of Pakistan movement among the workers of the party.
Prime Minister said the PML government believed in democracy and promoting the democratic institutions in line with the vision of Quaid-e-Az am.
He said the PML and its allied parties will participate the general elections in 2007, to continue the message of democracy and strengthen the democratic process in the country.
Referring to the press freedom ensured by the government, the Prime Minister said the print and electronic media has been enjoying full freedom.
The Prime Minister said due to press freedom, there has been a growth in the print as well as electronic media. It has also created a healthy competition in the media, he added.
He appreciated the role of media in promoting democratic values and projecting the point of view of every one.
President Nazria-e-Pakistan Council, Zahid Malik giving details of the working of the Council said, it was also making sincere efforts to promote the vision of Guaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
He said the main mission of the Nazria-e-Pakistan Council was to project Pakistan's ideology particularly for the young generation and students by conducting seminars.
