Light and intermittent rains continued in the Upper Punjab, NWFP, Northern Balochistan and Kashmir during the past twenty four hours, bringing down the temperature.
Agri experts told Business Recorder that these very timely light rains would greatly benefit the wheat crop in barani areas.
However, according to reports the rain and cold winds interrupted the relief work in the earthquake-hit areas of Muzaffarabad, Bagh, Rawlakot, Balakot, Mansehra and Batgram.
Meteorological department reported that Dir received 24 millimetres rain during the past twenty-four hours, Parachinar 15 mm, Rawalpindi and Kalam 8 mm, Mianwali and Peshawar 6 mm, Islamabad and D I Khan 5 mm, Kohat 5 mm, Saidu Sharif and Garhi Dopatta 4 mm, Risalpur 3 mm, Attock and Chitral 2 mm, Quetta, Sargodha, Murree, Abbotabad, Pasni and Panjgoor 1 mm.
The Met office has predicted light rains in the upper regions and snowfall on the mountains during the next 24 hours.
