Retreat of NAB from inquiry of sugar crisis is an ample proof that the present regime does not want to give relief to the poor and is wasting millions of rupees on NAB.
This was stated by Senator Dr Babar Awan while talking to newsmen here at Attock. He said that the government claimed to bring to book those responsible for sugar crisis but could not stand by its words. He said that by introducing local government system civil services' structure has been disrupted and today there were no effective price control committees. Consequently, hoarding and adulteration are on the rise.
He alleged three federal ministers and the Prime Minister were involved in sugar crisis and if the government wanted to prove itself innocent, then the PM should come to the Senate along with three ministers to respond. Govt had become hostage of profiteers and land mafia, he added.
