Pakistan Medical Association (PMA), while expressing grave concern over hardships being faced by the doctors' community, has urged the government to immediately accept their demands.
President Pakistan Medical Association (PMA), Dr Imtiaz Rasool told newsmen here on Tuesday that the PMA would stage a hunger strike camp in front of PMA office here to press the government for the acceptance of their demands. He said that the Ministry of Health is not paying any heed for the solution of problems confronted to the doctors' community.
Dr Yasmin Rashid said on the occasion that the PMA would continue its peaceful protest till the acceptance of their demands. She demanded that Surgeons should be appointed on permanent basis on BS-17.
The post-graduate medical officers working on contract basis should be merged in teaching cadres on permanent basis, she added. She also demanded non-practicing allowance of Rs 6,000 per month for doctors.
