The Railway Police have foiled a bid to smuggle huge quantity of drugs from Peshawar to Karachi through railway here on Tuesday. On a tip-off, the Railway Police searched Karachi-bound Khayber Mail during stopover at Rawalpindi station and on search the police have recovered 40-kg fine quality Charas from the bag of a passenger, Ikram.
The police have registered the case against the drug-pusher after arresting him and started investigation. Sources in the Railway Police said drug-pusher Ikram belongs to an inter-provincial smuggling gang, and had also been arrested earlier by Anti Narcotic Force (ANF).
