The management of Pakistan Steel (PS) on Tuesday entered into an out-of-court settlement, individually, with the dependants of its nine deceased employees, who lost their lives in an industrial accident at the Steel Making Department (SMD) in 2001.
The deceased included five regular employees and four daily-wage workers, said an official statement, adding that the next-of-kin of each deceased would be given Rs one million and this step has been taken purely on humanitarian grounds.-PR
