The Karachi Port handled 53,633 tonnes of cargo including 28,658 tonnes import and 24,975 tonnes export cargo including 2,280 containers during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Friday.
The cargo comprised of 41,883 tonnes dry cargo including 26,081 tonnes general cargo; 15,802 tonnes bulk cargo and 11,750 tonnes oil/liquid cargo.
Twelve ships namely Mol Asante, Kota Waris, Apl Cairo, YM Energy, Satha Bhum, Thor Captain, Hyundai Advance, New Vega, Meriom Dream, Champion Pioneer, Chem Jasmine and Spirit-II sailed out to sea during the report period.
Eleven vessels viz Hyundai Advance, YM Energy, QC Wisdom, Conti Harmony, Trust Busan, Med Carrara, L.A. Khetarpal Pvc, Chem Jasmine, Shong Yuan Men, Golden Jane and Energy Falcon are currently at the berths.
Two ships namely Al-Rabab and BBC Grace expected to sail on Friday, while six ships namely Maersk Alabama, Trust Busan, Conti Harmony, Golden Jane, Banglar Mamata and L.A. Khetarpal Pvc expected to sail on Saturday.
Two ships namely Victoria-1 and San Hope due to arrive on Friday, while four vessels viz Shintoku, Kota Tabah, Kota Jasa and Corinthiakos are due to arrive on Saturday.
The cargo comprised of 15,335 tonnes crude oil; 9,029 tonnes seeds; 8,460 tonnes chemicals; 5,547 tonnes iron ore; 6,329 tonnes fertiliser and 18,683 tonnes containerised cargo.
Five ships namely Indonesia Star, Thuringla Express, Global Trader, CV Al Mariyh and MV Hua Shan Hai sailed out to sea during the report period, while another ship MT Roseanne is expected to sail on Friday afternoon.
A total of two vessels viz Islamabad and Msc Camilla are currently at the outer anchorage.
Two ships namely Msc Camilla and Msc America due to take berths on Friday.
Three vessels viz CV Cma Cgm Alabama, Camilla Rickmers and MV Iran Borhan due to arrive to load/offload containers and rice on Friday, while another container ship CV Maersk Itea is due to arrive on Saturday.
