Wapda Chairman Tariq Hameed has said that construction work would be started on Bhasha dam after changing its route from Gilgit. He was talking to journalists after the opening ceremony of Grid Station in Bahria Town, here on Saturday.
Tariq Hameed said that Mangla raising project would be completed till 2007 and after this they would start work on Gomal dam and in this connection transaction with Chinese company are underway anyhow the said project could be awarded to some other company, too, he added.
He said that it would be constructed at every cost, anyhow it was not possible that when it would be inaugurated owing to bad weather conditions.
About route change he said, in fact the Bhasha's route is toward Gilgit, first we will change its route then start the work, the new date for inauguration would soon be announced, he added. To another question about Mangla raising project he said that quality material has been used in the project.
Earlier, while speaking at the grid station's opening ceremony Chairman Wapda said that electricity supply in Bahria town would be continued without any hurdle.
The design of grid station has been prepared by the Wapda itself while in the said grid station modern quality system has been installed, he informed. Owing to any untoward situation automatic battery system would continue electricity supply, he said.
