The first meeting of the Co-ordination Committee on Diamer-Bhasha dam was held here on Saturday with Speaker Northern Areas Legislative Council Malik Muhammad Miskeen in the chair.
The meeting was attended by Project Director Diamer-Bhasha dam Tariq Saeed, Deputy Commissioner Diamer district Abdul Hamid, Wapda officials, Members NALC, Haider Khan, Jan Alam Khan Advocate. The project director told the meeting that a comprehensive and attractive package for the victims of the dam has been announced.
Under the package, he said that local people would be given preference in employment and various job-oriented training would be imparted to them besides creating new employment opportunities. The meeting also decided that the package for the victims would be translated into Urdu and widely disseminated in the masses.
