The Karachi Port handled 98,814 tonnes of cargo including 81,153 tonnes import and 17,661 tonnes export cargo including 3,288 containers during last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday.
The cargo comprised of 83,109 tonnes dry cargo including 57,303 tonnes general cargo; 10,893 tonnes fertiliser; 5,790 tonnes rice; 123 tonnes cement; 9,000 tonnes coal and 15,705 tonnes oil/liquid cargo.
Twenty-two ships namely Conti Harmony, Trust Busan, Al-Rabab, Golden Jane, BBC Greece, Sinar Bontang, Maersk Alabama, Labbadi, Med Carrara, Kota Tabah, L.A. Khetarpal, Orionis, Mac Andrews Swala, Med Dignity, Victoria-1, Shintoku, Dareen, Shong Yuan Men, Sanhope, Ocean Wave-1, CEC Caledonia and Bow Cedar sailed out to sea during the report period.
Twelve vessels viz Kota Tabah, Sanhope, Victoria-1, Shintoku, Al-Marwah, Corinthiakos, A She Kyae, Kota Jasa, CEC Caledonia, Bow Cedar, Tai He and Mac Andrews Swala are currently at the berths.
Three ships namely Aql-Marwah, Kota Jasa and Tai He expected to sail on Monday, while three ships namely Song Yun He, Rosita and Corinthiakos expected to sail on Tuesday.
Four ships namely Sunniva, MT Swat, Song Yun He and An Yue Jiang due to arrive on Monday, while two vessels viz APL Pusan and Alitis are due to arrive on Tuesday.
The cargo comprised of 3,258 tonnes seeds; 6,464 tonnes fertiliser; 16,132 tonnes coke and 41,327 tonnes containerised cargo.
Two ships namely CV Camilla Rickmers and MV Bulk Canada sailed out to sea during the report period, while two vessels viz CV Maersk Itea and Msc Dymphna are expected to sail on Monday.
A total of three vessels viz Samho Cygnus, Islamabad and Iran Borhan are currently at the outer anchorage.
Two ships namely MT Samho Cygnus and MV Islamabad due to take berths on Monday.
Container ship Nedlloyd Muscat is due to arrive on Monday.
