Singapore bunker prices rose on Monday, but premiums narrowed slightly to below $10 a tonne as buyers seek deliveries for further-out dates, traders said.
Prices for 380-centistoke (cst) bunker fuel were pegged at $329-$331 a tonne, up $2 from Friday's Asian close, with the differential to fuel oil lower at a premium of $9.10.
"The market is becoming two-tiered as buyers start looking for April deliveries that are less affected by the current congestions," a Singapore-based bunker supplier said.
"The prompt cargoes are still very expensive with sellers looking at premiums of around $12-$14 a tonne but the further-out deliveries cannot command the same kind of premiums."
